Joey Picca

Joey Picca is a meteorologist with over a decade of operational forecasting experience around the globe. He has served the National Weather Service offices in New York and Dallas/Fort Worth as a senior meteorologist overseeing forecasting and warnings, and the NOAA Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma producing daily severe-weather and fire-weather outlooks across the United States.

Picca was a graduate research assistant with the National Severe Storms Laboratory, where he earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in meteorology. His Masters focused on the analysis and operational use of radar signatures of severe storms, and his expertise in the field of radar meteorology has been used to train forecasters, scientists, and media around the world.
