RICK VANDAM

Rick recently retired from American Airlines with over 32,000 career flight hours. He started his career in the US Air Force and retired from the Nevada Air National Guard in 1996 with over 4000 hours in the F-4 Phantom.  Since his Guard days, he’s accumulated nearly 1000 hours in various Russian MiG fighters.

In 1983, Rick started with the National Championship Air Races working in Race Control and became both the “Air Boss” and Director of Operations. He subsequently founded both the Sport and Jet classes, winning the latter several times.
